This Code of Conduct outlines the expectations and responsibilities of coaches, parents, and boxers at Hemel Warriors ABC. Our goal is to foster a positive, inclusive, and safe environment that promotes personal growth, athletic development, and mutual respect.
For Parents
Support and Encouragement:
Provide positive reinforcement for your child's efforts and achievements, focusing on personal development rather than just outcomes.
Understand that boxing is a challenging sport, and athletes benefit from both encouragement and constructive feedback.
ResPect for Coaches and Boxers:
Respect the decisions and authority of coaches, refraining from interfering in training sessions or competitions.
Support all athletes, fostering a sense of community and mutual respect within the club.
Communication:
Stay informed about your child's progress and club activities by attending meetings and reading communications.
Address concerns respectfully with coaches or club management, following appropriate channels.
Attendance and Punctuality:
Ensure your child attends training sessions and competitions regularly and on time, understanding that consistency is key to development.
Notify coaches in advance of any planned absences or scheduling conflicts.
Promoting Sportsmanship:
Help your child understand the importance of good sportsmanship, emphasizing respect for opponents, officials, and fellow club members.
Model positive behaviour and language, both at the gym and during competitions.
For Coaches
Respect and Fairness:
Treat all athletes, parents, and fellow coaches with respect, regardless of race, gender, age, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, needs, or ability.
Provide equal opportunities for all boxers to develop their skills and reach their potential.
Integrity and Professionalism:
Uphold high standards of honesty, integrity, and responsibility in all interactions.
Use appropriate language and behaviour at all times, serving as a positive role model for athletes.
Safety and Welfare:
Prioritize the safety and well-being of all athletes by ensuring training sessions are conducted in a safe environment.
Be vigilant about recognizing and reporting any signs of bullying, harassment, or discrimination.
Development and Communication:
Foster an environment that encourages personal and athletic growth, emphasizing skill development and sportsmanship.
Maintain open and respectful communication with athletes, parents, and club management regarding progress, goals, and any concerns.
Compliance with Policies:
Adhere to all club policies, including those related to attendance, attire, and conduct.
Ensure that all activities comply with national governing body regulations and standards.
For Boxers
Respect and Sportsmanship:
Treat fellow boxers, coaches, parents, and officials with respect at all times.
Demonstrate good sportsmanship by accepting victories with humility and defeats with grace.
Commitment to Training:
Attend all scheduled training sessions and competitions, notifying coaches in advance of any absences.
Approach training with dedication, striving to improve skills and fitness levels.
Safety and Discipline:
Follow all safety guidelines, including wearing appropriate protective gear during sparring and training.
Refrain from engaging in unsafe or reckless behavior, both in and out of the ring.
Positive Attitude:
Maintain a positive and resilient attitude, embracing challenges as opportunities for growth.
Support and encourage fellow boxers, contributing to a team-oriented environment.
Respect for the Sport:
Uphold the values and traditions of boxing, treating the sport and its participants with respect.
Adhere to all rules and regulations, both in training and during competitions.
Consequences for Breaching the Code of Conduct:
Coaches: Breaches may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or removal from coaching duties, depending on the severity of the violation.
Parents: Failure to adhere to the code may lead to restricted attendance at club events or training sessions, following a review by club management.
Boxers: Violations may result in disciplinary measures, such as temporary suspension from training or competitions, based on the nature of the breach.
