To join the competitive boxing squad at Hemel Warriors ABC, aspiring boxers must meet specific criteria that ensure readiness for competition and adherence to the club's values. These requirements align with standards set by England Boxing and the broader amateur boxing community.
Competitive Squad Eligibility Criteria
1. Training Commitment
Attend a minimum of two training sessions per week.
Maintain consistent attendance; frequent absences may affect eligibility.
Demonstrate dedication and effort during all sessions.
2. Respect and Conduct
Show respect to coaches, fellow boxers, and all gym members.
Adhere strictly to coaches' instructions; safety and progress depend on it.
Uphold the club's reputation by exhibiting sportsmanship both inside and outside the gym.
3. Independent Training
Engage in regular roadwork (running) and/or other fitness activities outside of scheduled sessions.
4. Medical and Registration Requirements
Complete a medical examination with an England Boxing-approved doctor.
Register with England Boxing through The Vault system.
Provide necessary documentation:
Proof of age (passport or birth certificate).
Clear photograph for identification.
Annual membership fee as stipulated by England Boxing.
5. Age and Experience Considerations
Be at least 10 years old to compete, in line with England Boxing regulations.
Boxers are matched based on age, weight, and experience to ensure fair and safe competition.
6. Behavioral Expectations
Maintain discipline and a positive attitude at all times.
Avoid any form of bullying, theft, or substance abuse; such actions can lead to immediate dismissal from the club.
